The Perfect Weeknight Dinner
On most days, once I’m out of the house for school pick ups, I don’t have a spare moment to prep dinner after that – so I plan my weekly meals meticulously. Between balancing my own schedule: the gym, meetings, blog work, content creation and household management, and the kids’ busy after school schedules, I lean on meals that are quick to put together, healthy and require little clean up.
These bang bang chicken skewers are one of my go to weeknight dinners. And thanks to Tfal, I’m able to get dinner on the table in less than thirty minutes. Using advanced infrared technology, Tfal’s Infrared Air fryer is so much easier compared to traditional air fryers, and offers quicker, juicer and crispier results with an exclusive air flow design.
There’s no preheating required, so I have one less thing to worry about on those busy evenings.

Ingredients
- Soy Sauce: We are not adding any additional salt to the marinade or bang bang sauce, regular soy sauce adds the sodium required in this recipe.
- Sweet paprika: This is regular paprika, not smoked or spicy.
- Cajun Seasoning: Not traditional to bang bang chicken, but I love the kick from cajun seasoning to balance out the sweetness from the brown sugar and sweet chili sauce
- Brown Sugar: Brown sugar brings balance to the flavours, and helps caramelize the chicken while it cooks giving it a beautiful deep hue once done.
- Sweet Chili Sauce: A key ingredient in bang bang sauce. Use as much or little as you’d like. When I’m making this for the kids I add more sweet chili and less sriracha, and when I’m making it for myself, I do the opposite.
- Sriracha: Again, use as much or as little as you’d like.

Weeknight Air Fryer Bang Bang Chicken
Equipment
- Tfal Infrared Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sweet paprika
- 1/2 tsp ground garlic granulated, not fresh
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 3/4 tsp cajun seasoning I like Tony's
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes
- 1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
Bang Bang Sauce
- 1/2 cup mayonaise full fat
- 1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp sweet chili sauce to taste
- 2 Tbsp sriracha to taste
Garnish
- finely chopped curly parsely
- finely chopped chives
Instructions
- Cut the chicken thighs into 1 inch wide strips, or cubes, as desired
- In a medium sized bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, sweet paprika, ground garlic, black pepper, cajun seasoning, chili flakes and brown sugar
- Add in the cut chicken thighs, mixing well to coat. Set aside for thirty minutes to marinate
- In another bowl, make the sauce. Combine the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce and sriracha. Set aside.
- Skewer the chicken thighs on to metal skewers, or soaked bamboo skewers. Soaking the bamboo skewers for at least thirty minutes will prevent them from burning while cooking.
- Place the skewered chicken directly on to the tray of your T-Fal Infrared Air Fryer. There is no need to preheat the Air Fryer.
- Secure the tray into the basket and place the basket inside the machine.
- Turn the power of the T-Fal Infrared Air Fryer on, and press the ‘broil’ option.
- Set the temperature to 375F, and the cooking time to 10 minutes. Press the ‘Crispy Finish’ function, this will add an extra two minutes of Infrared cooking time and yield the crispiest, juiciest chicken once done.
- Press ‘start’.
- Once the cook time has completed, the machine will beep to notify you that it is done.
- Remove the chicken, serve over warm jasmine rice. Drizzle with bang bang sauce and garnish with the parsley and chives.
- Best enjoyed warm

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this bang bang chicken recipe. It was devoured in one sitting. My picky chicken eater even said Mama, this is so so good, you have to make it again.
I will definitely be making this again and again.
